Arch Pain

The Causes & The Cures

The term arch pain refers to a burning sensation or inflammation at the arch of the foot. This can be caused by over pronation (flat feet).

Causes of Arch Pain

The main cause of arch pain is plantar fascitis, which is caused by excessive stretching of the plantar fascia. The plantar fascia is a band of fibrous tissue located along the bottom of the foot that runs from the heel to the forefoot. Plantar fascitis is due to over pronation (flat feet).

Treatment of Arch Pain

Avoid high heeled shoes whenever possible.
Purchase high quality insoles to support the arch and to relieve pressure and pain.
