In 1793, the Kiehl family started the production of surgical instruments based on newly developed steel forming technologies in the Solingen area, Germany. Throughout the 19th and 20th century they started manufacturing knives, instruments and scissors as well as manicure tools and tweezers, and developed the technology of making diamond coated nailfiles.

Kiehl use only selected materials of the highest grade to provide them with the optimal combination of hardness and elasticity. Their implements are sharpened and shaped by hand by experienced specialists. Kiehl products are developed in cooperation with leading designers for perfect handling, elegance and high functionality.

Range of Nippers

Standard Nail Nippers - With straight or curved blades including a double-spring mechanism for smooth operation and a box joint for long-term durability.

Heavy Duty Nail Nippers - Have reinforced handles and blades designed to handle thick, hard, or fungal-infected nails.

Ingrown Nail Nippers - For managing ingrown toenails. These are typically smaller and have finer, more pointed tips to access tight or recessed areas along the nail edge.

Diabetic Nippers - Are more rounded for diabetic or geriatric patients where skin integrity is a greater concern.

Cantilever Nail Nippers - Designed as heavy-duty toenail cutters with a barrel spring.

Instrument Care

Taking care of your instruments will maximise their life.

Pre-Soak
Before cleaning, soak instruments contaminated with debris or fluids in a suitable detergent.

Cleaning
Use ultrasonic cleaning if available. If not, scrub manually under water with a brush and cleaning solution.

Steam Sterilisation
Only sterilise clean instruments. Avoid letting debris dry and bake on in the autoclave. Use steam sterilisation at 134°C.

Instrument Protection
Stains and discolouration can result from contact with other metals, improper pH, or water droplets during autoclaving. Use Surgistain to remove marks.

Lubrication
Lubricate hinges and joints before autoclaving to maintain smooth operation. Use Kiehl Re-Oil Instrument Lubricant.

Featuring the extra fine Blacks File, at just 0.9 mm thick, it is, to our knowledge, the thinnest functional Blacks file available on the market. This extra thin blacks file allows for highly accurate, minimally painful work, making it ideal for removing infected material from nail edges. With one straight and one round end. 14 cm total length. All Probes come with a 5 year guarantee.

This uniquely designed double-sided foot file (25 cm) features an ergonomic, three-dimensional stainless steel handle that fits comfortably in the closed hand, providing excellent control and ease of use.
