PODOFIX FULL SLIDER

Podofix® Problems with ingrown nails?

Podofix is an innovative glue-on brace for correcting all forms of ingrown and curled nails. This plastic brace is glued to the nail and is therefore suitable for almost everyone - including young children and diabetics. Therapists and patients are convinced of both the medical and cosmetic results. With this easy-to-use method, surgery can be avoided and discomfort can be quickly and painlessly alleviated and permanently eliminated.

Podofix is individually adapted to the shape of the nail and can be applied immediately, which usually results in significant relief for the patient. Gluing on and activating the brace takes only a few minutes and is hardly noticeable. Even during wearing, hardly any restrictions are to be expected in everyday life, during sports or in water.

" Podofix is a gentle alternative for the regulation of nail deformities. It helps deformed nails to grow naturally and healthily. The therapy can be individually adapted to each patient including young children. "

How does the podofix brace work?

1. The plastic pad of the podofix glue-on brace is individually adapted to the patient's nail shape by simply bending it.
2. The brace can then be glued onto the nail without tension or pressure.
3. The stepless twisting of the incorporated loop slightly lifts the nail edges and relieves the surrounding tissue.
4. After shortening the protruding wire, the gel depot of the podofix is filled with PediGel and sealed in a few seconds.

FAQ

Can a corrective nail brace prevent the need for surgery?
In many cases, yes. Nail brace therapy has proven to be a largely painless method for treating ingrown nails, making it especially suitable for children and individuals with diabetes. Unlike surgical procedures, this approach typically allows patients to maintain their normal daily activities.

Is the treatment painful?
Applying the brace is usually barely noticeable. However, if the surrounding skin is inflamed, some discomfort may occur. Anesthesia is typically not necessary. Most patients experience immediate relief in the nail fold once the brace is activated.

Can I continue playing sports during the treatment?
In most cases, the nail brace won't interfere with your daily activities, including sports and water-based exercises. However, if there is significant inflammation, it's best to avoid physical activity until the area has fully healed. If you participate in competitive sports, it's advisable to consult your Podiatrist/Foot care professional for personalised guidance.

How long will the brace need to stay on the nail?
The duration varies depending on the individual case, but typically the brace remains on the nail for 4 to 12 weeks, moving forward as the nail grows. It may be repositioned and reactivated periodically until the nail returns to its normal, healthy growth pattern.
