DENTAL NEWS - Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash

Verrutop, the revolution in topical treatment for difficult warts.

In just a few applications, Verrutop treats warts painlessly and fast.

Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash uses advanced hypochlorous technology to deliver an effective, but gentle oxidising method of action. It cleanses and provides high levels of antimicrobial protection, but is completely tissue compatible and doesn’t harm, irritate or sensitise the oral mucosa or dental enamel. Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash is ideal for use following dental procedures, such as implantology or endodontology, to minimise the risk of peri-implantitis and aid recovery. Its ability to deliver effective antimicrobial cleansing without using harsh chemicals provides the optimum conditions for soft tissue and mucosal healing. Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash is highly recommended for use by those who suffer from mouth ulcers or bleeding gums.

Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash removes 99.99% of the bacteria that cause gum disease and tooth decay. Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash cleans effectively, but without using harsh chemicals, therefore providing the ideal environment for soft tissue recovery and resolution of sensitive mucosa.

How is Clinisept+ Mouthwash better than Chlorhexidine?

Chlorhexidine containing mouthwashes are effective against supragingival and subgingival flora. Chlorhexidine has both bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties at low and high concentrations. It is considered the gold standard for mouthwashes, but it has some disadvantages, such as a tendency to stain teeth and intraoral restorations if used long term. In addition, it may alter taste sensation, may impair healing as it has some toxicity to gingival fibroblasts, and, to some lesser extent, promotes calculus deposition, although it has an antiplaque effect. Chlorhexidine can cause an allergic reaction and it does nothing to promote cell regeneration.

How is Clinisept+ Mouthwash better than alcohol mouthwash?

Mouthwashes containing alcohol provide a burning sensation, and the alcohol kills virtually all bacteria in your mouth, including good and bad bacteria. If you use an alcohol mouthwash every day, there's a good chance you'll acquire bad breath and a bacterial imbalance. Mouthwashes containing alcohol can aggravate ulcers and mucosal membranes.

How is Clinisept+ Mouthwash better than hydrogen peroxide?

Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidising agent that has disinfectant, antiviral and antibacterial properties. It is also a mild antiseptic with a variety of household uses, including cleaning countertops and preventing infection in oral soft tissue. This does come with disadvantages. It is very harmful when ingested. Swallowing too much hydrogen peroxide can cause side effects, including burning of the digestive tract, nausea, and vomiting. Hydrogen peroxide can damage tooth enamel if used for too long, too often or in too high a concentration.

Clinisept+ Mouthwash can be used:

  • Before, during and after treatment
  • To improve oral health and wellbeing
  • For preparing implants
  • As a post treatment rinse
  • For post treatment recovery
  • For protection against peri-implantitis
  • For the resolution of sensitive oral tissue

Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash is a clear, colourless solution with a slight smell of chlorine. Unlike other antiseptics, it appears to calm inflamed areas with no stinging (unlike alcoholic solutions). The solution has a long shelf life and can be sold to patients for home use (400ml) as part of their ongoing treatment.
